Eating a salad with less mess


Is an explanation even necessary for this one? ;-)

Anything that can be consumed as a crudité can be folded into a flour tortilla (I find corn tortillas less pliable) इस तरह से (is tarah se - in this way) and dressed with a vinaigrette of choice, either within the roll itself or on the exposed cross-sections. Or, if you tend to make up for the lack of calories in the worst imaginable way as I sometimes do (no, I do not wonder why I can't seem to lose that last kilo), why not dump a tubful of cocktail sauce or some other member of of the same whisked egg yolk + mustard + oil family? Sin by all means! *evil grin*

Vegetables used in this picture: thin beetroot slices, coarsely shredded raw carrots and lettuce leaves. The dressing had shallot bits, yogurt, red wine vinegar, salt & pepper, olive oil, lemon juice and mustard.

Variations : my other favourite combination is rocket + grilled capsicum + sundried tomatoes + parmesan, but almost anything goes!

hey, this is really less mess. all the mess is cleaned by the "edible tissue" -(tortilla). any drips on the plate can be cleaned up with the tortilla too, and less one plate to wash! LOL! ;p

Ah Claude, tu es vraiment trop gentil! Merci! :) Venant de toi, qui cuisine si bien et qui a le plein d'idées au niveau présentation, je suis vraiment flattée! :)

Pour l'instant, je n'ai pas encore fait de post sur un plat typiquement européen, mais j'y songe.. reste à décider quoi... des recommendations? :)

shilpa, your wraps are great :) We do tt lots here with smoked turkey (oops..sorry, another animal ?hehe), smoked havarti cheese, & some spicy ranch yummss :) Btw, did you use some sort of multigrain low carb wrap ? Cheers :)

hi melting wok! I do eat animals occasionally, so it's ok to give me meaty suggestions! :) nah, my wraps were really ordinary flour tortillas, don't have a wide choice over here, we only have the brand Old El Paso. Not even sure it comes from El Paso, heh heh...
